Halfway between Sicily and Tunisia, 75 nautical miles from Trapani, Pantelleria is a perpetually windy volcanic island, made typical of lava stone, fumaroles and thermal baths. Atmospheric agents have shaped the coasts over the centuries, turning it into a wild and adventurous island, devoid of beaches but dotted with caves and inlets with unique charm.

The island has no real beaches, but is renowned for its marvelous coastal inlets: Cala Tramontana, Cala Levante and Balata dei Turchi, ideal destinations for swimming and scuba diving. The lava stone is not limited to the natural landscape, but has been modeled over the centuries to build the typical local domed houses – the “dammusi” – the emblem of the island along with the delicious local wine Passito di Pantelleria. Inside the island we find a natural lake, the lake of Venus, a basin fed by thermal waters. Next we can meet another symbol of the island, the Elephant Arch, before plunging into the warm waters of Cava Benikulà, a natural sauna whose fumes reach 38 °.
