Sailing around Capri
Circumnavigating the island is easy, the only real danger is the intense maritime traffic, especially in high season. There is only one port on the northwest side, Marina Grande and at the Marina di Capri it is possible to moor both on the quay and in buoys. For those who love the coastal inlets, in good conditions of sea and climate, the southern side of the island towards the Faraglioni offers a safe anchor on a shallow seabed and some sandbanks. However, it is particularly exposed to winds in quadrants II and III. If the weather conditions are guaranteed, this is the best place for anchoring. Anchorage is not recommended in all other bays due to the shallow rocky bottom.
